Buchanan Hall is a fully equipped and staffed complex of four lecture halls built around a centralized media control room. Each lecture hall features dual slide projection, 16 mm film projection, public address system, audio and video projection from a variety of sources, as well as full multimedia services, including large screen data projection. A preview room is also available for viewing films and videotapes. We require 48 hours notice for equipment and operator services during normal operational hours, and a week's notice for weekend or late-evening events. Clients unfamiliar with the procedures and equipment in Buchanan Hall should contact Buchanan Hall Staff. |

The first priority for the assignment
of Instructional Resources equipment, facilities, and services is to support
instruction on the UCSB campus. As funding permits, Classroom Services
will provide service at no charge to campus academic departments during
the regular academic year in order to support any courses which take place
at the time and location listed in the current Schedule of Classes. Instructional
Resources also provides a broad range of audio/visual, video, and multimedia
services on a cost recovery basis for special events and conferences.

We can also provide faculty with "hands on" video/audio equipment in the lecture halls for those who wish to run the equipment themselves. Clients and faculty unfamiliar with the equipment in Buchanan Hall are urged to consult Buchanan Hall Staff before their event/class in order to ensure everything runs smoothly. Film Services: Buchanan Hall houses a 16mm film collection. We inspect and maintain UCSB films and keep updated records on their condition.
